This was my first class with Janice. I am so glad I took this class as I have always had trouble with RTW fitting me properly. I have sewed for years and now patterns do not fit me and it was exhausting trying to find the fit for ME. Janice explained the tissue-fitting method and showed me the various changes needed for the perfect fit for ME.
I have now made two t-shirts that look good and address my particular body measurements. And, now I am learning how to make changes to this template to make other garments.
Thank you Janice

Need some additional fitting help? This workshop is designed as a followup once you have completed a fit workshop (Fit for Real People, Pants for Real People, or Fit and Sew Knits). Drop by the studio and fit as many patterns as you can.

The Fit and Sew Knit workshop was just what I was looking for and gave me comprehensive information I needed to understand how to alter a pattern to get a better fit for my body measurements. I have been frustrated with the fit of garments I’ve been sewing for awhile. Despite making tweaks to a pattern I wasn’t happy with how they fit my body — either the shoulders were not wide enough or the back was too tight, etc, etc.. I now have a custom fit T-shirt and pattern that I can use as a template to design new styles. The Knits for Real People book, received with the workshop, is a valuable resource packed with easy to follow techniques, illustrations and tips. I highly recommend the workshop to sewers who want a better fit garment and sew with knit fabrics. Janice’s guidance and knowledge made the class fun and easy to learn.
